MAX

The reflection tool MAX (Motivation- Acquisition-Extension) enhances students analytical skills based on Autonomous Learning theory in which self management approach is dominant and benefits from student’s motivation, acquisition and extension. The aim of MAX is to elicit different opinions from the students about what they would like to examine more in detail. This tool consists of a MAX grid in which students have to complete unfinished sentences (express an opinion and give reasons for one’s point of view) usually after learning activities in a written form. In the grid, 3 things show learner’s motivation, 2 things give the evidence of the acquisition and one thing demonstrates learner’s readiness to extend the acquired, to apply in practice.
