National Education Day has been celebrated since 2008, every year on November 11. Through this presentation EDUREFORM Innovation Managers honoured the legacy of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and his contributions in the Education sector.
A brilliant mind, Kalam was the first Union Education Minister of the country after Independence. National Education Day is observed in the country to commemorate Kalam’s birth anniversary. He served as the education minister of independent India from 1947 to 1958.
Kalam had mentioned that for the growth and prosperity of a nation, Education is the most important element. During his term as the Education Minister, several important institutes such as the first Indian Institute of Technology in India or IIT Kharagpur, School of Planning and Architecture, first Indian Institute of Science or IISc was set up.
A strong advocate for the education of women. Kalam always insisted that the empowerment of women is a necessary and significant condition for the improvement of a nation.
The role of EDUREFORM is similar as it also aims to mitigate the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Indian Society: Education Reform for future and in-service School teachers.
