The tool “Peer facilitated learning” enables teachers to engage students in a meaningful peer learning experience. It is a combination of reciprocal peer teaching and class-wide peer teaching. This innovative pedagogy reflects the reality students will face not only at the workplace but in their daily lives as well. Humans do not live in isolation, we are collective beings, and this can be seen by the amount of ‘peers’ we have: relatives, friends, colleagues…. This tool bridges the gap between the traditional individualistic approach to education and the actual necessities of the 21st century. By fostering collaboration, collectiveness and partnership not only schools will be preparing students for the future of work, but the learning objectives will be met in an effective manner. The tool provide students an opportunity to co-create knowledge through collaborative meaning-making. It helps them develop skills like collaboration, problem solving skills and strong communication skills which are an essential part of our lives.
